• Learn the history of your craft.
• Tell someone whose work you love why you love it.
• Surround yourself with a community of peers whose work you admire.
• Don’t pay a consultant for advice, listen closely to your friends.
• Call a creative worker on the phone and ask them how they made a project you like.
• Always be honest and generous with your advice to others.
• Learn how to be happy for your fellow creatives when they kick ass.

In case you haven't seen it already, the pop band OK Go  (they of "treadmills video" fame) have created yet another fantastic music video.

The Rube Goldberg machine was built by Syyn Labs, a group of "...creative engineers who twist together art and technology... (and) build interactive installations that encourage strangers to play together by lowering social barriers."

Amazing stop-motion music video for a Dutch "collective" called Nobody Beats the Drum, whose music is (self-) described as a "...fusion of breaks, electro, hip-hop, and every other form of music that whips a crowd into a sweaty, writhing heap of body parts..."

Stargate Studios is a high-tech production house that specialises in visual effects for the tee-vee and film industry, and they are playing at the top of the game.  Check out the very impressive showreel for their "virtual backlot"... where they film sequences for a whole range of programmes you've definitely seen.  Very cool stuff.
