The first -- and for the time being, the last -- overseas meeting of former US President Bill Clinton's charitable organisation the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI), has ended after a two day event in Hong Kong.

Wrapping up the final session, Clinton summarised the key takeaways for the audience of corporate and government leaders.  He emphasised the need for business-friendly solutions on areas from climate change to the global financial crisis, and repeatedly stressed the need for cooperation between business and government.

As a result of the appointment of his wife, Senator Hillary Clinton, as Secretary of State in the incoming Obama administration, Bill Clinton has agreed that CGI will not hold any further annual meetings outside of the US, to avoid potential conflicts of interest.
